Question by Science Wizard!: Require aid with density Calculations for science! Density=mass/volume?
I take a acadamic science course in highschool and I was pondering if there answers are appropriate?

1. A block of aluminum occupies a volume of 15.0mL and weighs 40.5g. What is its density? the density is two.7g/mL

2. Mercury metal is poured into a graduated cylinder that holds specifically 22.5mL. The mercury used to fill the cylinder weighs 306.0g. From this info, caculate the density of mercury. The density is 13.6g/mL

three.What is the weight of the ethanol that exactly fills a 200.0mL containor?The density of ethanol is o.789g/mL. The answer is the mass is 157.8g

4.A rectangular block of copper metal weighs 1896g. The dimensions of the block are eight.4cm by 5.5cm by four.6cm. From this information, what is the density of copper? (hint: discover the volume of a block initial) The density is 8.9g/cm^three

five.What volume of silver metal will weigh specifically 2500.0g. The density of silver is 10.5g/cm^three. The solution is the volume of silver is 238.0cm^three

You really should be ready to do it, but just take mass / volume. For illustration:
40.five g / 15. mL = two.7 g/mL, which is how they got their solution.

2. 306 / 22.5 = 13.six g/mL
three. mass/volume = density
mass / 200 mL = .789
mass = 157.8 g(multiply density by volume)
4. eight.4 * 5.five * 4.6 = 212.52
1896 / 212.five = eight.9 g/cm^three
5. 2500 / ten.5 = 238. cm^three
six. .8765 * 250 = 219.one g
7. 4.five * five.two * 6. = 140.4
1587 / 140.4 = 11.three
